1. Parties & date

2. Coverage & deliverables
Hours of coverage, second shooter yes/no, expected number of finished images, delivery format (online gallery + USB), and turnaround (typically 4–6 weeks).
3. Fees & payment schedule
Total fee, deposit amount (usually 25–30%, non-refundable), balance due date (2–4 weeks before wedding). Bank details or online payment link.
4. Cancellation & rescheduling
Who keeps the deposit if the couple cancels; how rescheduling works if you're not available on the new date; what happens if the photographer cancels (typically full refund + help finding replacement).
5. Weather & outdoor limitations
You will do your best in bad weather; you're not liable for outdoor shots being impossible due to conditions; the couple agrees to identify an indoor backup for portraits.
6. Copyright & usage
The photographer retains copyright of all images. The couple gets a personal-use licence for printing, gifting, and social. Commercial use requires separate permission.
7. Model release
The couple grants the photographer permission to use images in their portfolio, website, blog, and social media. Opt-out clause for couples who want privacy.
8. Delivery & backup
Images backed up to two locations. Files retained for 12 months minimum. If original files are lost, photographer's liability is capped at the fee paid.
9. Liability cap
In case of equipment failure or force majeure, liability is capped at fees already paid. Photographer carries professional indemnity + public liability insurance.
10. Signatures & date
Both parties sign and date. Digital signatures (DocuSign, SignWell, or the C&C Studio contracts feature) are legally binding in the UK, US, EU, AU, and Canada.
